After one month you may feel, that when you are talking with your baby, he/she smiles and want your attention. Development and growth of the 1 to 3 months babies like height and weight etc. and the doctor uses some milestones to tell us whether our baby is growing well or not. 

Areas of developments and growth

Here I explain some areas of development that may be its help you to know about your baby’s health 

Weight  

Normally the baby gains weight 1 to 2 pounds each month. 

Height 

The average height of 1-inch increases every month. 

Head size  

 Normally 0.5 inches of the head increase every month. 

Increase in hunger 

You feel at the passage of time your baby’s hunger is the increase. maybe the baby feeds after every hour but it is normal. 

Babies’ sleep time at this age 

At this age babies more settle sleep in the night like 5 hours continuously and feed time 2times in the night but some are settled sleep in the age of 4 months so it depends on the baby to baby. In twenty-four hours, babies’ sleep time is 12 to 13 hours.

0 to 1 month old baby can do

• The baby turns its head from side to side. 
• Looks at the hands.  
• Follow the faces, light, and sounds. 
• Brings hands and objects in the mouth. 
• Neck muscles have become stronger. 

What type of things my baby can say and understand at the age of 1 to 3 months old?

• Response to others with smiles
• recognize the parents voices.
• Cries some purposeful things like hunger, nappy change, and other things.  
• my baby sees and hears at the age of 1 to 3 months old

• Babies can see all the shapes and follow objects at this age 
• The baby is more attached to parents and recognizes the parent’s voices and faces. 
• Babies can hear voices in the womb-like mother’s heartbeat.

• The babies recognize the difference between light and darker colors.
